10月12日下午，广东省委常委、宣传部部长慎海雄在广州会见加拿大阿尔比省亚太区高级代表贺文龙一行。
慎海雄对贺文龙一行的到访表示欢迎。他说，广东省和阿尔比省在贸易、投资、教育、科研、旅游、文化等多个领域有着良好的合作及交往，未来合作前景非常广阔。当前，广东企业走出去的势头良好，阿尔比省正是广东企业投资的首选区域之一。希望两省进一步加强经贸、文化等各领域的交流合作，增进两省人民之间的了解，推介双方的旅游资源，加强文化产业项目的对接，推动互惠互利合作迈上新台阶。
贺文龙表示，当前两省迎来开展交流合作最好的机遇期，合作空间非常大。今年11月份，阿尔比省将组织经贸代表团访问广东，进一步拓展双方的友好合作。十分欢迎广东省企业到阿尔比省开展业务合作，寻求商业机遇，实现共赢。
据悉，慎海雄率领广东省代表团访问加拿大期间，会见了艾尔伯塔省官员，出席广东—艾尔伯塔省“21世纪传媒发展机遇与挑战”圆桌会议，就抓紧落实两省业已签署的合作协定、在文化产业等方面率先突破达成共识，并商定在班夫国际山地电影节和中国（广州）国际纪录片节之间展开合作。

On the afternoon of October 12, Shen Haixiong, Head of Guangdong Provincial Publicity Department met with Ron Hoffmann, Alberta’s Senior Representative for the Asia Pacific Basin, and his delegation in Guangzhou.
Shen Haixiong expressed warm welcome to Ron Hoffmann and his delegation. Shen said, Guangdong and Alberta have been working closely in the fields of trade, investment, education, scientific research, tourism and culture and have a bright prospect for future cooperation.
At present, Guangdong enterprises enjoy a sound momentum of going global, and Alberta province is one of the preferred regions of investment for Guangdong enterprises. Shen hoped that the two provinces can further strengthen the exchange and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and culture, enhance the understanding between peoples of the two provinces, promote tourism resources from both regions, reinforce the project matching of cultural industries, and push the mutual beneficial cooperation to reach a new level.
Ron Hoffmann said that the two provinces are embracing the best opportunities for carrying out exchange and cooperation, with huge potential for cooperation.
In the upcoming November, Alberta will organize economic and trade delegations to visit Guangdong, further expanding the friendly cooperation between two provinces. Hoffmann expressed that Guangdong enterprises are warmly welcome to Alberta to develop business cooperation, seek for business opportunities and realize a win-win situation.
It is reported that during Shen’s visit to Canada with a Guangdong delegation, he met with officials of Alberta province and attended the roundtable of “Opportunities and Challenges of Media Development in the 21st Century”.
Consensus has been reached that the two provinces will seize the day to put the signed cooperation agreements about cultural industries into practice, and agreement has been made that cooperation between two provinces will be carried out in Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour and China (Guangzhou) International Documentary Film Festival.
Representatives of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, the Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou Municipal Publicity Department, and Rachael Bedlington, Consul General of Canada in Guangzhou attended the meeting.
